Emma Snow
A winter's bastard
Backstory
The lost bastard daughter of Brandon Stark Born to an apothecary in Wintertown, Lyna, the Starks were never made aware of the girl's existence, and Emma would never know why that was. Living with her mother until her untimely death, Emma learned her mother's trade - gaining a vast knowledge of herbs, plants and their many uses. Emma remained in the North until she was orphaned at the age of 8, and fled the North
Innocence that died young
Finding herself trying to survive, Emma's vast knowledge of plants was soon manipulated by others. She was young and naive, scared and hungry. She soon found herself in inescapable position, brewing and delivering things other than medicines - otherwise finding herself a loose end. Despite an unpleasant line of work, Emma tried her very best to stay as moral as she could.
Smart girls learn quick
Overtime, Emma was no longer the helpless, defenseless little girl she once was. She soon learnt that being small, quick and quiet on her feet was a desirable skill that many sought after. Conversations had and contents of letters were valuable information. Emma learnt the game of the men that stole her childhood from her. And she played it well.
Personality

Emma is now a smart, strong and determined young woman. Though her quick and sharp wit is one of her best assets, her sarcastic comments and inability to hold her tongue at times has landed her in some difficult situations. Her determination often surfacing as stubbornness and hot-headed temper that she inherited from her father.
Emma is untrusting of others after being alone for so long, but is fiercely loyal to the few acquaintances that manage to get close to her. Her loyalty to the Starks is profound, and would do anything she could to aid the North in it's cause. No matter the cost.
Though she would one day like to be made known to the Starks, to have a chance at a family again, Emma is reluctant to let the nature of her paternity known. She believes her mother must have had reason to keep it a secret and, for now, remains alone.
